Cyanoacrylate glue, the fastest glue
Cyanoacrylate glue is the absolute fastest glue; it is used in those situations that require fast and tenacious bonding. It takes its name from the monomer from which it originates. This includes a nitrile group (cyan prefix) and an acrylic acid ester.
It is sold in small bottles equipped with a spout to allow a few drops of product to spill out. In fact, too much adhesive would slow bonding, thus defeating its function.Cyanoacrylate is transparent and reacts with moisture in the air, quickly leading to the formation of long polymer chains.
It also makes it possible to achieve imperceptible and waterproof bonding on objects of different materials, resisting even dishwasher washings. Another great advantage of this adhesive is its superior shear strength to many other adhesives and versatility, allowing excellent adhesion on most materials.
Cyanoacrylate should be stored, if possible, in the original container. To keep their characteristics intact, the containers should be stored at a temperature between 10°C and 22°C, away from strong light and heat sources, even better in a refrigerator.
To give an estimate of the curing time, below are some examples of different materials related to our Instant cyanoacrylate adhesive:
- EPDM <5 seconds
- Neoprene <5 seconds
- Nitrile rubber <5 seconds
- Balsa wood <3 seconds
- ABS 10-15 seconds
- Polycarbonate 10-30 seconds
- Steel 25-40 seconds
- Aluminum 20-30 seconds
